Formed 2001
Acteal is a politically aware, Latino-ska group from the Sherman Heights neighborhood of San Diego. Infused with equal parts reggae, Two Tone, jazz, blues and rancheras, the group is associated with Calaca Press, a radical printing house/record label.
Acteal was on the verge of releasing their debut album in Spring, 2007 when percussionist Octavio Villa quit the group.
