Since 2001, Deadline Friday has focused on making pure, unapologetic rock 'n' roll. Their first album, "Wear Yourself Worn," released in 2004, earned them die-hard fans and rave reviews: "The complex, tight but lulling vocal harmonies are almost velveteen to the ears while unabrasive cooperating guitar progressions and solos take center stage."" With "Days Gone," produced by Jeff Berkley, the band is ready to soar into the rock atmosphere. Deadline Friday released "Days Gone" on March 22, 2007 with a highly anticipated show at the Belly Up Tavern which featured cameo performances by Marc Ford (formerly of The Black Crowes and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Cathryn Beeks, Barbara Nesbitt, Jeff Berkley, and John McBride. "Days Gone" captures the essence of a Deadline Friday live show, where your senses swim in the hypnotic polyrhythmic parts that blend seamlessly to create true rock paradise. From the first note to the last cymbal crash, you're part of a mesmerizing musical experience that holds you in its grips and weaves, swirls and twists you in all directions. So join the revelers, the boogiers, the free spirits and the rock 'n' rollers who make their way to Deadline Friday shows and find out just what exactly these boys will whip up in their spot-on mix of American rock and inspired improvisation.

Extension Watershed Stewards are a group of nearly 300 community-based volunteers that teach youth and adults how to become better stewards of our region's unique environment. Washington State University experts train stewards in forestry, salmon enhancement, habitat restoration, wetland resources, and much more! In exchange for over 70 hours of classroom and field training, volunteers commit to giving 60 hours of their time to a stewardship project of their choice. What Watershed Stewards learn during training:

  • Current salmon recovery efforts in our watersheds and how to get involved
  • Hands-on site restoration skills including invasive plant removal techniques
  • Examples of low-impact development strategies used in our area
How Watershed Stewards make a difference:
  • Lead stream clean-up efforts with Homeowners Association groups
  • Teach water conservation and stewardship to Girl Scouts and other youth
  • Volunteer with one of our partnering organizations as a leader or educator
  • Plus, stewards can participate in opportunities available at WSU Extension events, create their own projects, and work with municipal governments
Visit the Extension Watershed Stewards website to see spotlights on current steward projects, learn more about volunteer opportunities and apply today!
