Insolents

The band started in LaHabra california in about 1980 as Fatal Grasp. we played shows around fullerton and LA. Then ~’82 Todd moved to SanDiego for college and lived in the dorms with Milo Aukermann (decendents). There he met Kevin and Dave and we renamed the band The Insolents. We played ALOT around San Diego and one of the guys who used to come to the shows asked us if we were interested in a 2nd guitarist, and Paul joined us around ‘83. we played probably every other week at somewhere in SD, alot of big shows (Exploited,, GBH . . .) we toured the big chunks of the US a couple of times. We also had to tour since we were essentially banned from most of the SD clubs (us and battalion of saints) because some of our fans were getting a little out of control (listen to the song ‘Background Music’) plus it seems we had opposing gangs coming to the shows and they just couldn’t keep it together. We even played a few show down in Mexico with some Mexican punk bands. We put out the Ep “Spout Off’ , an LP ‘Spit in the Mirror’ and were on various compilations (Mystic and Metal Blade and another that I forget) Around ‘86 we all were drifting apart musically and decided to end the Insolents. we had a great time together during that time and we enjoyed being part of the scene.1980's
