Half-rocking, half-folksy, brave with their lyrics and all-in-all pretty smart, these boys pump out jams that English teachers, ho-down lovers and jaded indie kids would approve of. ./vision.jpg

When our pretty green planet finally just gives up and quits, there will be lots of screaming and havoc in the streets. But if you listen hard enough you might also hear the sound of five San Diego boys whistling.

Local bible-brats Vision of a Dying World (er, we wouldn’t quite call’em religious, just ballsy) love singing about the fiery death of the planet. But what sets them apart from the heavy-metal music their name suggests, is that they do so with flourishes of barbershop harmony, ukulele and sax.

Yes, and electric guitars, too. We didn’t say they were pansies.

Raised by a Christian songwriter, brothers Jackson and Keith Milgaten have been making music for like, forever. It wasn’t until they both moved from Las Vegas that they officially formed Vision with old friend Jeremy Scott and drummer Jonah Tellez-Giron.

If you see’em, say hi. They’re nice enough to bring home to mama.
