Although The Yard House doesn't qualify as a brewery it does boast the largest variety of draft beer west of the Mississippi.
The Yard House is an upscale-casual eatery known for its extensive menu, classic rock music, and world's largest selection of draft beer. From classic lagers to more obscure ales and stouts there's a draft beer flavor for everyone. Each Yard House location features a transparent keg room containing more than 600 barrels, some 1,000 gallons of beer, and an endless fleet of tap handles - 130 to 250 - depending on the location. The menu of American cuisine includes an impressive selection of appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, individual-size pizzas, seafood, steaks, ribs and chops. Late-night dining is available, and each restaurant can accommodate groups for large parties. For pint-size guests the kid's klub includes a 12 page activity book, fresh to order menu items and a kustom kooler. The Yard House plays classic rock and roll on its state of the art sound system while an abundance of flat screens showcase the day's sports and special events.
History
The Yard House opened its doors in 1996 in Long Beach, California and continues to grow thanks to the continued loyalty of its valued guests and tremendous team of employees.
The Yard House found its roots in an earlier rendition named the Boiler Room in Denver, Colorado. After nearly 15 years in operation founder Steele Platt sold the Boiler Room and headed out west. In a collaborative effort with partners Harald Herrmann and Carlito Jocson the first Yard House expanded upon the Boiler Room concept by offering a wide selection of draft beer and showcasing a diverse menu of American fare. Yard House derives its name from a 3-foot tall glass originally designed in England to hand to stagecoach drivers back in the day when travel by horse drawn carriage was common.
