Eric Rife is a San Diego based photographer and writer.

He is currently employed as a library assistant in the history department of the San Diego Central Library.

Rife has photographed among others, Johnny Thunders, Joe Strummer, the Damned, the New York Dolls, the Pogues, the Supersuckers, El Vez, the Sex Pistols, Motorhead, U2, Junior Brown, the Real McKenzies, John Lee Hooker, Rev. Horton Heat, Hank Williams III, Pearl Jam, X, the Blasters, Mike Watt, Henry Rollins, Speedbuggy, Soledad Brothers, Little Richard, Social Distortion, Turbonegro, REM, Rocket From the Tombs, Love/Arthur Lee, PJ Harvey, the Darkness, the Dandy Warhols, the Levellers, Ice T, the Hellacopters, the Shambles, fluf, Rocket From the Crypt, Cheap Trick, Andre Williams, Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, Nashville Pussy, Rhino Bucket, Tiger Army, Radio Birdman, Steve Earle, the Dragons, Hazil Adkins, Deadbolt, Bad Religion, and Zeke.

Rife is currently producing a documentary film chronicling the history of rock in San Diego County. Materials including fliers, posters, handbills, photos, LPs, 45 singles, zines, ticket stubs, stickers, pins and other memorabilia are being solicited. All interested parties are encouraged to contact Rife at librarianeric@yahoo.com.
