The venue, housed in a former bank, was no-frills -- ugly even -- but drew plenty of mid-level bands and comedy acts.

When House of Blues opened nearby, the demise of 4th & B seemed imminent. But instead of quietly leaving the scene, 4th & B has aimed for a comeback with a complete overhaul of its dated interior. Will the club be able to compete with the new venues cropping up every which way? Only time will tell.
