Harvey Bodie's joint on University was better known as Bodie's Dive Bar – with good reason. It was a favorite hang for local players like Mojo Nixon and the late Country Dick Montana. (Night&Day columnist Buddy Blue once dubbed it "San Diego's official rock 'n' roll hangout.") After four years, Harvey passed the torch to his son, Bret, who relocated to F Street, downtown. That Bodie's closed in 1996.
