North Park Lions Club

Although still used for the occasional retiree dance or banquet, the days when rock bands ruled the "Lions Club" are long gone. Located at 3927 Utah Street, the club opened its doors to indie promoters in 1978, and was one of the first local halls to allow punk shows. By the time the owners stopped renting it out five years later, the hall had already played host to the Misfits, X, the Blasters, DOA, the Angelic Upstarts, the Urinals, Husker Du, and the notorious Germs (in their only San Diego appearance). Local artists who performed here include the Injections, the Executives, NON, Battalion of Saints, the Crawdaddies, the Skullbusters, Manifest Destiny and the Standbys.
